STABLE, SIMPLE & EASY

The MX8 was designed to be stable, simple and easy. Each component is located where it is for a reason, with room to flex, room for cooling air, and space to inspect, work on and clean each area of the car. The electronics can be removed from either above or below, or a combination depending on your preference. There are optional shorter engine and throttle servo mounts to adjust flex symmetrically. If you question the width and shape of the chassis now, you won't after you have taken a lap with the Mayako on a tough fast track due to the increased stability.

FRONT SUSPENSION

BETTER GENERAL HANDLING

The MX8 comes with the more stable KPI-1, for your typical Pillow Ball front end feel. There are optional KPI-.5 hubs and knuckles available for more aggressive steering response, more like a typical C-hub car feel. Not only that, you can also adjust knuckle height, upper link/arm length, and steering link position, thanks to the red eccentric bushing in the carbon steering plate, which you can also replace with an optional one, of course. This is a high performance racing machine. You need to be able to adjust all the relevant adjustments when looking for the last 10ths of a second, regardless of which overall feel you prefer.

DURABILITY BY DESIGN

DURABILITY AS PRIORITY

The MX8 has captured screw type hinge pins, which sandwich the arms and arm holders with a M4 Screw and nut, helping to strengthen the suspension. This also makes working on the car a lot easier, as you can remove and arm by simply removing the hinge pin, or you can remove the diff, or entire gearbox, while keeping the arms and holder intact. The MX8 comes standard with a fixed height A-Block for maximum strength. There is an option part which allows for diff height adjustment, to fine tune your car. The stock setting is low diff, 0 diff shims, which provides the smoothest and calmest steering response. Additionally there are steel skidplates front and rear, which significantly extend the lifetime of the chassis.

STEERING SERVO

FLOATING SERVO MOUNT

The steering servo can be removed by just two M4 screws, from it's floating mount. For different height servos you simply space the triangular mounts higher as required. The MX8 also comes with the option of running the lightweight servo saver eliminator, which is the preferred way of running the car with today's all metal gear strong servos.

THROTTLE AND BRAKE

VERY SIMPLE SETUP

The throttle and brake linkage on the MX8 is very simple, with only 1 link for brake. The brake bias is easily adjustable by turning one of the two knurled adjusters by hand. This is something that can be done without any tools, or even removing the body. The throttle link comes with a button head screw instead of a grub screw for the collet, so you can use a rubber band fail safe in the event you were to lose power.

BUMP STEER

POWERFUL TUNING AID

Bump steer is a powerful tuning aid, specially when running the KPI-1 hubs. It can be adjusted at both inner and outer ends of the steering link, turning around the eccentric ball, or adding/removing shims. Adding just a 1mm shim can increase steering mid to exit of corners significantly.

SHOCKS

BLADDERS OR EMULSION

The shocks on the MX8 are hard coated, with silky smooth operation, and come standard with an emulsion gasket and bleeder screw in the cap. Bladders can be fitted in the caps if preferred, but we recommend the emulsion setting for every condition.

DISCORD, MEMBERSHIP, COMMUNICATION

DISCORD, MEMBERSHIP, COMMUNICATION

Mayako is an community driven development project, where we welcome feedback and ideas, as well as include our MPC Members in the actual prototype testing of new parts. Some of those never end up mass produced, and others make it into production after all feedback from testing is evaluated. This is why there is a distinct difference between the Standard MX8-24 and the Member Version. One of our members Jimmy Deprez suggested a way to lock the ackermann plate with steering centered, to ease setting front toe and camber, and this was included in the first production version of the car.

The Mayako MX8-24 is the car for everyone!

Building on the proven success of the MX8-22, the MX8-24 is the next step in Mayako¡¯s journey to provide the best car and community in the industry.

Working with the Mayako Community, the configuration of the MX8-24 has been tailored to suit most conditions and drivers.

  • High KPI front end (KPI1/Caster1) to give drivers the confidence to drive the car how it is designed to be driven
  • Front and rear upper links for a forgiving car
  • Soft arms for increased durability
  • Adjustable rear differential height. Commonly used by drivers of all levels to adjust the handling for track conditions.
  • CVDs provided front and rear for an easy to drive car with maximum traction. Optional UJ¡¯s available for more rear support on higher traction tracks.

The MX8-24 shares the same design with the MX8-24MPC (for members only), with spares and option parts shared.

The MX8 is designed to be easy to drive and adjust out of the box. With an extensive information base available to all Mayako drivers, no one can get lost with the MX8. The Wiki and Community are available 24/7 at the click of a button.

Everyone with a Mayako car is welcomed into the growing Mayako Community, allowing you to share your passion and learn from others around the world! When you purchase your kit directly from Mayako, a link to the Mayako Discord is provided in the confirmation email. Alternatively, scan the QR code on the chassis to unlock the full potential of your new purchase!
